Last week we were very lucky to have a visit from the County Down based author Declan Carville. The children had read some of his books and were very excited to welcome him to our school. Declan’s work is very much inspired by his surroundings and we listened to extracts from stories based in Donegal and the Giant’s Causeway. We also heard all about the beautiful Fairy Glen in Rostrevor. Declan provided the children with some wonderful writing tips and the children enjoyed listening to the story of how he became an author. We also really enjoyed looking at the beautiful illustrations and hearing about the different illustrators that Declan worked with. Over all we had a fantastic day! Thank you to our PTA for funding the visit from Declan!
